Dec. 25 was the day we flew to the Philippines. You cant believe this! As early as October, we were trying to book a ticket to Ilocos Norte but to our surprise, there were no seats available!!! We thought of getting CebuPac since its cheaper. And as far as I can remember, PAL's schedule to Laoag that day was at 11AM and also our departure time in HK..and not to mention very expensive too! No choice but to take the bus going home, traveling for 10 hours!

It pays to have a lot of friends. Our former landlady and close friend in San Juan volunteered to fetch us at the airport.

At least we had somewhere to stay while waiting for our night trip. Had some stories, ate food, shared laughter...and a lot more!
We barely noticed the time and we only had 30mins before the departure of the bus..In short, somebody had taken our seats just because we arrived at the bus terminal 5 mins late from the cut-off(passengers with reserved seats should arrive 30mins before departure). We tried to talk to the driver and conductor but the passengers didn't want to give back the seats. Thank God I had a good day, didn't want to ruin my night just because of that, no matter how i wanted to be in Ilocos in the soonest possible time. Next thing we did was to find vacant seats in the other trips. There were 2 available seats in the other bus but they were in the rear-most part. I thought of my condition, shall we just take it?.What if it will be bad to the baby knowing that the rear part is the most bouncy..We prayed to God to protect us all the way. It was a very scary trip: bouncy end, aggressive driver, fast moving vehicles on the opposite...I just couldn't get myself to sleep.
With the traveling mercy from God, we reached Laoag alive. On top of my to-do list was to have an ultrasound of the baby. Upon seeing the heartbeat on the monitor, we just can't explain the blissfulness and thankfulness we have at that moment. Yes, i have a single-live fetus in my womb. And because of that, we had to cross-out some of planned activities to properly take care to the baby since it's still at the most sensitive stage.
